Sally Dynevor's involvement with The Genesis AppealBack to media centre | Category: Latest News | Date: 24th Feb 2011 Coronation Street star, Sally Dynevor, has been a great supporter of ours here at Genesis for over a decade.
Throughout the years, Sally has attended and been photographed at launches of various projects such as the Genesis Rose, Keep Fit and Pink events, and the opening of the Genesis Breast Cancer Prevention Centre in 2007. Also in 2007, Sally agreed to become the 'face of' a Genesis campaign with Lloyds Pharmacy. Coronation Street fans were no doubt shocked to hear that Sally's on-screen character faced the prospect of dealing with the disease. When she heard that she would be portraying a storyline already so close to her heart, Sally immediately contacted us. With the help of Lester Barr, breast cancer specialist and chairman of The Genesis Appeal, Sally conducted in-depth research about breast cancer in all its forms, plus the many varieties of treatment. We're delighted Sally is now back on the road to recovery and are immensely grateful for all she's done to help publicise us here at Genesis, and our efforts to make one in ten, none in ten. |
